InterMarine is a prestigious boat dealership founded in 1995 by two Quebecers, Luc Thibault and Patrick Galipeau, who shared the same dream: to develop their dealership in the marine capital of the United States. We recently interviewed Coryne, Mr. Thibault’s daughter, who has been the company’s executive coordinator for 11 years, since completing her studies at the University of Quebec in Montreal.
Product variety
InterMarine offers a wide range of products: « We have entry-level 16-17 foot boats, which are suitable for everyday people looking to enjoy boating in Florida, as well as 80-foot yachts. It’s a very large and diverse market, and customers can also grow with us,“ says Coryne. ”If they eventually want to change boats, we’ll take it in trade. They can evolve through our range of brands, which are also very popular with families. »
Trademark
This is their trademark: “We really focus on boats that are versatile for families, comfortable and suitable for different activities,” says the executive coordinator. « We have many brands from the Beneteau group: Jeanneau, Beneteau, Prestige; and Chaparral—when we talk about well-known American brands—as well as Navan (also from the US). We have Bayliner, which is also part of the Brunswick group, offering more entry-level boats for those new to boating, and Cranchi, which is one of our largest yachts that we introduced about a year ago, which is more of an Italian yacht. “
Distinction from other dealers
Coryne explains: ”We are not part of the large corporations that are common in this field. We are a rare family business with a more human side. We offer a comprehensive service in which we are always available. » Especially since we are all aware of the enormous importance of after-sales service in boating! She adds: « Our after-sales service is our strength. We have technicians employed by InterMarine as well as a mobile team available when needed. We are always available to help and support our customers because we continue to pass on the passion that Luc and Patrick had from the beginning, and which is still very much present in the company. The goal is to simplify the purchase and use of the boat to make the activity enjoyable for everyone. «
Events at sea
InterMarine also organizes trips throughout the year exclusively for its customers. The team brings together around twenty boats and they go to Bimini, for example, or the Keys, sometimes as far as Key West, to put customers at ease who might not dare to venture out on their own on this kind of trip for the first time. According to Coryne, « It’s a huge success. Clients love the experience, and after doing it with us, they feel super comfortable doing it on their own, or they meet other captains and families during these trips with whom they then go on trips in smaller groups.
