For several days now, the official website of the CBP (Customs and Border Protection) agency for I-94 has been displaying a red banner as shown below:
This banner announces that, starting September 30, 2025, all foreigners arriving in the United States by land will have to pay $30 to obtain an I-94, instead of $6. An additional flat fee of $24 will be required.
We do not yet know whether this fee will also apply to Canadian tourists; at this time, there is no indication that they will be exempt.
