As a low-pressure system approaches the Gulf of Mexico, a flood warning is in effect from 2 p.m. on Monday, July 14, until 11 p.m. that evening for southeastern Florida.
The low-pressure area is expected to move northwestward into the Gulf of Mexico late Tuesday, then cross Florida. It was located off the Atlantic coast of northern Florida early Monday morning.
The National Weather Service is forecasting rain accumulations of up to 12 cm in South Florida by Wednesday, July 16, with peaks ranging from 12 to 17 cm in some areas, described as a potential “catastrophic scenario.”
