It’s the start of a new season at Soleil de la Floride, and our publication is entering its 43rd year of existence. Despite the current situation, we sincerely hope that people are starting to plan their return to Florida this year. At least we know that some of our loyal readers are. We would like to thank them for contacting us with their questions about the controversial I-94 form for their next trip to the United States via the land border. Fortunately, the form is simple, and the answers are provided on page 2 of this newspaper (https://lesoleildelafloride.com/english/the-i-94-made-easy). We took the opportunity to ask them why they are returning to Florida this year and what they love about the Sunshine State. Read all about it on page 9 (https://lesoleildelafloride.com/category/english).
I would like to take advantage of the start of the new season to thank not only you, our readers, but also everyone who contributes to the newspaper, starting with Flore Kayl, who writes and edits our publications with care, passion, and diligence. This month, she reports on tourism statistics and a Canadian fintech company in Florida on pages 8 (https://lesoleildelafloride.com/english/tourism-florida-beaches-shine-in-a-new-survey) and 3 (https://lesoleildelafloride.com/english/a-canadian-fintech-in-florida). Don’t miss her news briefs on page 6, as well as the phenomenon of delisting in real estate on page 11 (https://lesoleildelafloride.com/english/real-estate-surge-in-delistings).
I would also like to thank our valued contributors, such as Denise Dumont, who offers a new column, Trends, on page 7 (https://lesoleildelafloride.com/english/choosing-not-to-remarry/), with a wide range of current topics to keep you well informed and connected. A huge thank you to Sylvain Bruneau, who continues to cover the hottest topics in the news on page 5 (https://lesoleildelafloride.com/english/florida-faces-extreme-heat-and-drought). And I sincerely thank the longest-serving contributor to ****Soleil de la Floride****, since its inception, Mr. Gérard Charpentier. Between research, discoveries, and travels, he continues to enrich and inform us about the Sunshine State. As for sports, we greatly miss columnist Tom Lapointe (R.I.P.), and we hope to find a rare gem in September who can provide you with passionate and committed coverage of the most popular professional sports.
Wherever you are right now, dear readers, we hope you find the first issue of the new season of Le Soleil de la Floride useful and enjoyable. Please continue to contact us so that we can keep you informed about the topics that matter most to you (info@LeSoleildelaFloride.com). And when you return to Florida this year, remember to support the businesses that advertise in the pages of this newspaper, as well as in the monthly MIF (Le Magazine Immobilier de Floride) and the annual guide Accès Floride, the new 2026 edition of which will be published when you arrive. Please know that it is thanks to the businesses that advertise in our pages that we are able to continue to provide you with information about Florida and topics that matter to you, in French, and more recently in English as well!
Happy reading and enjoy the season!
