Many Canadian tourists do not realize how many interesting places are close to them whenever they visit the Greater Fort Lauderdale area. Although many visit Florida for the beaches, there are times when you feel like taking a break from the warm and sunny weather in the winter time. For shopping and dining, there are several well-known locations such as the Galleria Mall located at 2414 East Sunrise Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale. The mall is close to the beach as well as to I-95. In addition to a new completely renovated food court named “Palm Court Market” opening in November of 2015, there are several big name restaurants on the outside portion of this mall with regular hours such as The Capital Grill, Seasons 52, P.F. Chang’s China Bistro and Truluck’s.
The Galleria is opened from 10A.M. until 9 P.M. from Monday to Saturday and from 12 P.M. to 6 P.M. on Sunday. This beautiful indoor Galleria Mall contains three of the most well-known department stores, Macy’s, Neiman Marcus and Dillard’s as well as.
After a few days of continuous sun and sand at the beach, a day of shopping and dining at Galleria Mall, is a nice way to enjoy yourself. The mall is the most beautiful mall in the Greater Fort Lauderdale area and is considered spectacular, because of its appearances and over 1.4 million square feet of retail space.
In addition to upscale department stores Neiman Marcus, Dillard’s and Macy’s, the two story mall contains numerous chic stores selling interior design items, and women’s apparel and accessories. There is everything for everyone including Delia’s, Gap or Lucky Brand Jeans to BCBG Max Azria, Bebe or Cache. As to shoes, the brands include Aldo Shoes, Cole Haan, Nine West or The Walking Company.
The Galleria Mall has spacious atriums, large windows, whitewashed walls and stately palms presenting the Floridian charm. The buildings are beautiful on both the outside and the inside.
We recently celebrated our 35 wedding anniversary at the Capital Grille, at Galleria Mall as I prefer French wines with a good Filet Mignon, and Capital Grille offers both. Their menu also has a good selection of fresh sea foods in addition to numerous appetizers such as steak tartar. Our server, Miguel Cardona, and the restaurant manager, Eric Digeon, treated us like royalty, and we certainly will return before our next anniversary celebration. When you have both good food and good service at the same location, you feel lucky. When the food is perfect and the wine is great at a reasonable price, you adopt the establishment as your preferred eating place!
